We have added the option to enabled OTP (One-Time Password) 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) in our hosting control panel for account administrator logins. This is the same type of OTP protection already available in our accounting portal.
When enabled, not only will you need to enter your normal credentials to log in (username and password), you'll also be required to enter a unique, six digit code to complete the login procedure. Even if your username or password is compromised/stolen, unauthorized parties will not be able to log in without the OTP token. This is similar to the technology used by many financial institutions to protect their customer account logins.
Our hosting control panel uses TOTP tokens (Time-based One-Time Password) and is compatible with any standard TOTP application. For mobile users, a popular application is Google Authenticator, available for both iOS and Android. If you're looking for a desktop application, we suggest Enpass (available for all desktop OS and mobile platforms as well).
To enable OTP 2FA, log into the hosting control panel with your administrator credentials and click on the "Google Authenticator" link located in the upper-right toolbar.
Note: If you lose the ability to generate the OTP token required to log into your hosting account, you will have to contact us to remove the OTP configuration in your account.
